Overall i like your idea and appricate you hard work to implement it.
Excel features like drop down boxes or AutoFilters are not (yet?)
supported in Google Docs spreadsheets.

same here. file AP in August and got receipt. I-485 filed on July 2 and no receipt so far. called USCIS and could not find receipt number for 485.

I found that EADs from NSC are being issued for filers until Aug13, as of now. I guess the processing time is like a week and half of the week, for every day. So you could be getting in 3 weeks.

i was on h4 visa and recently as i turned 21 i am no more dependent on my dad who is on h1 visa . i tranfered my status to f1 .But my dad applied his 1-485 recently along with my application for i-485 and he consult the lawyer too and lawyer told as i am not the main visa holder like if i was on h1 and i transferred to f1 and then apply for i-485 then my application can get rejected ; but not now as i was not the main applicant but was dependent of my father.
i dont trust everything wat lawyers say.so can anybody help me out with this issue.
It would appear that you are not giving us the entire situation. I am guessing due to the child status protection act your age is OK for dependent status due to I140 processing time take off your age at time of filing I485.
If that is the case did you transfer to F1 while waiting for your fathers priority date to become current?
If this is correct then your application should not be rejected but if you are to travel outside of the US you MUST have advance parole since being in adjustment of status makes your student visa null and void and therefore you are unable to re enter the US on the F1.

I have a straight case working on H1 for same employer since 5 years. My 2nd H1 was approved on Oct 1 2007 valid till 2010. I saw a soft LUD on my H1 for 4/26/2009. I am not too worried I think it is just system update thing.
My previous attorney also mentioned the same thing. Looking at this thread it seems all soft/hard lud's were generated on Sunday, April 26th. Maybe a computer program flagged these cases.

Sundar - I understand ur question..I ve seen in many forums that employers can revoke ur I-140 before ur I-485 is approved. When you transfer with ur approved I-140 from ur previous employer and lets say that he has already revoked it..I am not sure what will happen the..just wanted to confirm...

You can extend your h1 by 1 year, if you labor has been pending more than 1 year. 3 year extension is allowed when you have the approved I-140.
If your labor is pending 180 days you can apply for a 1 year visa extension. If you get your I-140 approved under premium processing after your labor approval and before you visa expires you can apply for a 3 year visa extension. You can apply for any other new visa L, J, F etc., and continue to stay inside the country but not H visa otherwise you have to be outside the country for 1 year.

This is for a good friend of mine. He is going to get married in dec 2007. He has already applied for 140 premium processing. There is a opportunity to apply for 485 by end of this month and he has asked me for advice on this matter. His labor has PD March 2005(got cleared).
My request to all IV members is to give me some advice that I can pass on to him.
Please help !
I think due to rescinding of the July visa bulletin dated July 2 there will be severe retrogression starting October 2007. Your friend should apply for I-485 now and he can turn in a follow-up I-485 for his wife after he gets married. You have to just hope that the priority dates do not become current before that. If there is any inklink of that happening in Oct bulletin I think he should try to get married sooner.

I just wanted to get some input from the veterans here who have started a business in partnership while they have been waiting for the coveted green card.
What kind of legal paperwork does it take to start a business? I would think as long as you don't work for the business it should be ok? If you can own part of a corporation (stocks), you can be a partner in a business?
Ideas?
If you are in H1B status, you can start your business by investing, but not working. You can not work for your business to get paid, but you can get profit sharing. In Wisconsin, when you register, you need a President/CEO who can legally work for your business. You can check with your state and register your business there. Probably, you even can register online in some state. Of cause, later on, you will need help from your accountant, laywer, etc.
If you have Green Card or EAD, that is not a problem to run by yourself.

Ok thanks, is this a full 12 months with entry to the US, as I have been travelling into the US on the odd weekend for personal trips. Not sure if that would impact on the 12 month time period or not.
it is believed to be 12 months outside US which can be interpreted as 12 months with no trips to US however please check with an immigration attorney. It seems like you may need a quick session to get clarification
