Dear All:
Details: Indian, in H1-B status. Current visa stamp in passport expires in mid July but employer is applying for the extension.
The situation: I want to quit my job late this summer and relocating to Asia. Before I leave this continent, I'd like to travel around South America and maybe even do some volunteer work. I'd love to travel for at least 1 and maybe even 2 months.
Ideally, I would like to re-enter the US after this trip and collect my bags before flying to India.
What are my options for re-entering?
1) Get new H1-B stamp in passport before quitting the job (though this would be kind of a pain/expense). Quit the job, ask the company not to cancel the visa and re-enter the US after the trip on the new H1 stamp. I am guessing this is a somewhat risky option as I would technically be out of status, right?
2) How hard would it be to switch to a tourist visa and get a new stamp in a country like say Argentina or Mexico?
What do you think my best option is or am I out of luck?

swft3d max is only a plugin for 3d studio max to allow import export between the two. you need the trial full version unless you have 3d studio max.

PD has to be current for the I485 to be accepted. For a dependent's application, Primary's PD is used. Bottomline, you will have to wait till your PD becomes current to apply for your wife. Most likely, the application will be returned.

1, How long its taking for PERM processing (including ad etc.,)?
2. Which center is doing PERM faster?
3. will there be any issue if 2 companies file for LC for me in the same center? my current employer is going file LC, but thinking to join some other company.

1. To file the PERM itself it is minimum 60 days, though realistically it would be closer to 75-90 days to file. Regarding processing time, it depends on which category, if it is subject to audit, etc. I would say average would be 4-5 months.
2. Chicago hands-down is definitely faster than Atlanta.

Few friends of my whose PD were in 2003 had got their GC no matter the current opening is for Jul2001, since you have already applied for ur I-485, I think it would be better for you to wait & watch for some more time and join company B on EAD with contract to hire position.
Or else you can start ur EB2 processing also through Company B and then later I think there is a way to make us of PD of EB3 when filling for ur I485.

Today I will be giving a presentation on immigration law along with my colleague, V. Thomas Langford, to the Air Force JAG serving at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. The Air Force JAG Corps are lawyers who provide legal advice to those serving in the Air Force.
Our training today will focus on the basics of immigration law. We will be covering family-based immigration law and outlining the procedures involved in petitioning for a family member to immigrate to the United States. We will also be talking about the Violence Against Women Act ("VAWA") and how an individual may self-petition for immigration status if he or she has been the victim of abuse or mental cruelty. Finally, we will discuss the naturalization laws as they apply to those serving in the military at a time of a conflict.
It seems that I always learn something while preparing for a presentation. While preparing for this one, I learned that staff from USCIS in Sacramento go to Travis Air Force Base twice a month to interview applicants for naturalization and administer the oath of citizenship on the same day. Kudos to USCIS for taking the time to do this. Good News for Our Citizenship clients. More than 9,000 candidates will become new citizens during 63 special ceremonies hosted by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in recognition of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day on Sept. 17. I have a friend in India who applied to a new H1B through a consultant, was lucky to get through the lottery but is now stuck in RFE because of issues with the consultant. He heard from someone else that the same consultant is getting rejects and is nervous that his case will get rejected too.
I've heard that while a H1B case is pending (before it is denied), one can apply a separate petition from another employer and is still considered a valid application that is within the quota as it is for the same applicant.
Does anyone have experience in this area? What do you recommend? I also plan to contact an attorney regarding this to help my friend.
