My Membership for the IV Linkedin group took about a week to get approved.
i faced it too ... but here is what i did
i searched for linked in immigration voice ... it pulled up an existing member

Did you apply for EB 2 category. Probably the PERM application you marked EB3 category. This is one of the reason when USCIS will deny instead of sending RFE now.

Hi,
I received my permanent green card based on marriage to US citizen, valid for 10 years last month. Now, I am planning to travel to India after close to 9 years, but I am extremely concerned about returning point of entry issues and I wanted to see what would the community suggest.
I came to the US in Fall of 2002 on a student visa. Around aug - 06, I went out of status. Right around then I met my future wife who is an american citizen, we moved in dec of 06 and got married in Jun 07. Due to financial hardship, we couldnt apply for my AOS/GC up untill late Oct last year. [Oct - 2010]. We hired a lawyer and every thing went pretty smoothly and fast.
I had my EAD approved within 45 days and I got my GC interview after a month. We [me, wife, lawyer] went to the meeting and everything went great. Our interviewing officer just took 20 mins to question us and we received my Permanent GC [not conditional] in the mail shortly there after.
Now I am planning a visit back home for one week, because I couldn't get more days off.
I am just worried about my return step to US at the port of entry. I have been reading and I learnt that I just have to present my country passport and physical green card to the officer who will then scan and ask questions.
What kind of questions can I expect from the officer?
Will he be asking me questions about my past as in when was the last time I came to US?
Why I was illegal/out of status of close to 4 years and questions about our marraige etc?
When applying for GC we collected lot of documents to provide to the USCIS that our marriage was in good faith such as joint bank accounts, pictures, leases etc. Should I take all those documents with me when flying?
Will taking a certified copy of my marraige certificate beneficial along with the supporting documents?
It feels like another "meeting" with USCIS where I have to show proof but I am really concerned that I dont get denied at the port of entry.
Also, after I got my EAD, I moved to another state to work on a contract position for couple of months. I consider my actual address as the address I applied my GC which is in another state, since this is just temporary job. I already mentioned this to the officer at my interview and he noted my current location/job title etc during that time....should I do something about it?
Sorry about such a long list of questions. Its just that I havent travelled out of country in such as long time and I dont know what issues I could face and what I need to carry with me so that I can be allowed back into the country upon return?

You may not able to use concurrent filing, by the time you get your EB2 labor.

That may be but even if the discussion starts in July, it may very well take rest of the year to get through congress if it ever does. We have seen this bill sink once and there is no gurantee that it'll make it next time around.
But I certainly hope that something is done sooner than later. If it happens before July, that's even better. We then will just get less time to organize our big celebration party. :)

I would do both. Change your address with USCIS & also ask USPS to hold your mail.:)
You are definately a High Skilled :):):) Yes, that's smart way.
1) First apply "Hold Mail" on the day of moving at least for 15 days.(USPS web site provides selection of hold start and
resume date) and DO NOT request " Forward mail to new address" with USPS
2) Move yourself
3) Perform "Change Of Address" through filing AR-11 and by calling USCIS after moving to your new place but ASAP. AND
Do both calling and filing on line AR-11form.
4) On the 10th day of moving mail "Change Of Address" form to USPS with From: Old Address To: New Address
5) On the 12th or 13th day call USPS and lift up Hold and request USPS delievring all held mail to your new place.
Note: Only thing you may have to confirm with USPS is that whether USPS would mail you the held mails to your new address or not. If you have moved to new city then it is the only alternative and if USPS cannot deliver held mail to new address then you can not take that route. My lawyer said he is going to refile with good covering letter. I was trying to explain him include the Fedex etc.,etc., He cuts me off and says we have seen scenarious like this we know what to do.

According to my knowledge , The current PD is 2001 for EB2, therefore they cannot process (and deny) I485 for you ,with PD 2006.
Most probably ur I140 has been denied , and thats why ur 485 was denied(automatically).
I am not a lawyer, thats my person view.
How come you guys work for people like these, who dont give u an insight on ur I140, leave him and join a better employer.
Processing dates and priority dates are two seperate things. Your application is processed even though PD is not current. E.g. TSC processing dates is Jan 07 currently. So even though a person has PD of 2004 they will process it if ND date is in Jan 07.

Need all of your help to find a employer willing to do so.

In responce to SR I received the following reply from USCIS
The Permanent Resident Card cannot be completed because the biometrics have not uploaded into the system. We are looking into the databases to see if the images can be found.
Did anyone received a similar reply?
I gave my fingerprints last thursday (September 4, 2008).

My 485 petition reached USCIS on July 18th and I am travelling to India on August 17th, I have my h1b visa stamping at Chennai on August 21st. My employer and his attorney strongly recommend not to travel until we get the reciept notice.
Murthy's FAQ is confusing, does not say one must not travel, but says it will be better if one can avoid travel.
Is anyone else in the same boat? My travel is essential. It is my brother's marriage and I have to be there.
Any takes on this? Has anyone called USCIS?

I could not agree with you more. I still want to be a software engineer as thats EXACTLY what I will work as. But the problem is because of the corporation paperwork, I was listed as a CFO (just for paper work) I WONT be working as a CFO at all bt jsut as a Software Engineer. So my question is should I officially give up the title of a CFO before I port to self employment, or since I wont be working as a CFO, I will be working as a Software Engineer.

Go back to India and live like a king. Greencard is not worth it. Even with one million you will live like an ordinary guy here. But with one million in India you have better chances of making your business successful with a huge investment and live a better life with servants around you.

Got my GC during September and my sponsor couldnt find a job right now. He is saying, they are going to revoke I-140?. Is this normal?. Will it affect me in any way?. Thanks.
Is it possible to revoke I-140 after you got your GC. I think once you get GC you are free to choose any job and any employer of your own choice.
Forget about GC, but even you had not got GC and if it's more than 6 months your 140 is approved and 485 filed, then also employer revoke would not effect your case, if moved from him and applied AC21 from new employer..
