The thing that I didn't understand is that if I-94 expiration does not matter in pending AOS status then why I-94 is issued with expiration of 1 year when you enter USA using Advance parole? What is the meaning of 1 year expiration in I-94 when somebody enter USA using advance parole? I was looking for any official note or memo explaining its valid to stay even if I-94 expired if you have pending AOS. Something like we have official memo for AC21 portability. I was looking for something official document saying I-94 expiration is not a problem for pending AOS.

Where have you been? I think you should spend some quality amount of time researching the IV database to find the answers to your questions. Believe me, you will not only find the answers, but you will also get a chance to read about lot of good and bad experiences our members have been through.
Anyway, to answer your original question....
If you know for sure that you are going to lose the job in the near future, why do you want to take a chance? If I were you, I would have started looking for a job already.

I know a few good friends (GC or citizens) who will be willing to do anything to help me - they were once in the same boat and/or have seen their close friends suffer with pathetic priority dates, layoffs etc.
However, lets face it - we can't expect active participation from them - in terms of logging into IV and looking at action items. What we can expect is prompt action if an IV member (like you or me) approaches them with very specific action items. We have to do the groundwork - for example, if the action item is to send a letter to your local senator, we have to take our friends' zipcodes, find the senators and let them know the specifics - where to send, what to send.
I am all for this. I am sure everyone has a few friends who recently got their GC, or received it many years ago in the good old times and are now citizens, or relatives in another state.

I also filed G28 and AC21 with my attorney 2 weeks back and there is no update/LUD. I called USCIS yesterday to know if they have updated information for my attorney. First time they replied they personal details they only can provide at local offices and not on phone.
They also mentioned that G28 does not have any return receipts, it needs to be sent through registered post/courier. Although, my attorney mentioned to me that we will receive a confirmation for ac21 which normally takes weeks!!!

Vin13, You are assuming that only IV members are getting approvals - How will you account for non members?
This is a sample study of only the members. For example, if this poll shows 200 members and the number of approvals from the "2010 last quarter approvals" is 150, then we know that about 75% of our members are approved and 25% are still waiting.
This is a statistic. Do not expect for exact numbers.

The status on the UCSIS website says that an RFE has been issued on our 765 applications for the spouse & I. Still have not received the physical notice, so not sure about the reason for RFE.
Are there others out there in a similar situation? Curious what the reason could be since it didn't seem to matter the first time around! Also, not sure if there is a typical turn around time after one responds to the RFE for EAD approval? My wife's EAD expires Oct04, so it looks like she might have a break in employment.

Just wait for your GC, then start looking for another job and see how it goes. One of my friend thought of leaving his employer the day he got his GC. Guess what, its been almost a year and he is still with the same employer. His employer (Desi consultancy) increased his pay soon after his GC. So just wait till you get your GC and then decide which way to go.
Its risky to quit your job the day after you get a GC. USCIS can revoke the GC saying you never intended to be remain employed at your LC advertised position. The burden is then on you to prove otherwise.Most attorneys advise staying put for a minimum of six months to be on the safe side.

Company A where i am working as a consultant has offered me a permanent position, Company B is my employer.
Company B is threatening to sue me if i take up the permanent offer at Company A.
Company B is aware of the offer, I have a contract signed with Company B but the contract duration is 2 years, i am on 3 rd year with Company B. I have 3 year extension till 09(with approved I140)
Can Company B get a restraining order(or sue me) to stop me joining Company A?
Can the company B cancel my H1 before me giving the resignation letter?
If Company B apply for H1 cancellation how long will it take?
If H1 cancellation reaches USCIS before H1 transfer(from Company A) reaches USCIS, what will be acted on?

Yes you can withdraw your 485 and file one as derivative of your spouse. Once you withdraw your 485 , your 140 should still remain valid if you need to use it (in case there is some problem with your spouse's case).
He can apply second I-485 without withdrawing also.
Although . I am not sure in your case, but You can write a letter to USCIS asking to link you application to Spouse application. This is done in Family based applications frequently when the eligibility changes.
Other option is go for Consular processing immediately after the approval. Check if you can use Attorney certified I-140 (AC-140) which is much quicker in case of CP

The San Jose organizers are preparing a doc that goes into details of what we did, and what we should have done.
It'll take a few days since we are all still recovering - keep your eyes out for an updated post!
A couple of quick notes of advice from those just off the front lines:-
Give yourselves time to plan. We had less than a week to plan, and it was VERY stressful for a lot of people.
Join your state chapter, it makes communication a lot easier
I'd also agree that next Saturday with harry potter book may not be a good idea.
I'll have to double check, but I see no reason why we can't pass on the flyer, pamphlet and banner docs that we used.

Look for postings on indeed.com...this site actually pulls data from various sites...you might also have contacts of the recruiters in the postings sometimes.
Also there is Monster,Corp-Corp.com,Dice, Hotjobs,Net-temps. You can look up the recruiter info from the postings and call them to see if they have any openings.

Is the date decided? Please make sure that for any rally, multiple dates are not given out because it causes a lot of confusion. In my opinion, this is how any rally should be organized (gsc999 and franklin can correct me or add to this):
Interested people from that area get together through emails/phone calls/IV forums to identify a group of people that are willing to put in a lot of effort in organizing the rally. As San Jose people will tell you, it requires substantial effort and energy.
Decide upon When and Where - check with local authorities about the venue and date/time and make sure that you get the approval.
Create a press release.
NOW ANNOUNCE ON A PUBLIC THREAD ON IV WITH ALL THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE RALLY AS WELL AS A LINK TO THE PR
Spread the information so that participation is maximized and media is at hand to cover it

You have no idea what odd hours Berkeleybee is up at times working for IV. Once we had an emergency conference call where Berkeleybee had to join at 6.00 AM in the morning (after a very late night at work) and actually made it!
